Yeay, I'm finally doing a DIY post! So the picture above is from I Spy DIY, a fabulous site with really cool projects that I've been wanting to do for a while. I got the supplies from Michael's yesterday and made them today! Take a look~
You need:
-2 pieces of 3 in chain (I got one long piece and cut it up)
-1 yard of suede cording
-pliers
-jump rings (3-4 per bracelet)
-lobster clasp
-super glue (not shown)
Cut the yard of suede in half and thread both pieces through the end of one chain.
Tape the chain and lower suede piece so they stay in place.
This is hard to explain... so you can go look at the instructions of the I Spy DIY tutorial to see the words.
Your first two knots should look like this.
Continue knotting, alternating sides until you've done about 2 inches.
NOTE: My suede almost ran out and was hard to use at 1 1/2 inches, so if you want it to be easy to knot, cut your suede piece longer than 1 yard or cut one half longer than the other.
When I was done with the knotting, I got really confused with how to finish it. That's me being confused :) Then I figured it out after looking really close haha
The piece I'm holding is the leftover knotting suede. I tied the inner piece around the knotting piece...
...To look like that, I guess. I tied each bracelet I made a different way, just to see if there was an easier/better way, so it doesn't really matter as long as you tie it :)
Then they said to use super glue and I had to go find it in the basement.
Cut the ends close to the knot and put super glue on them to hole them in place.
Last step! Use your pliers and a jump ring to attach the lobster clasp to one chain and attach 1 or 2 jump rings to the other end, depending on how long you want it.
Voilà! There it is!
I made two other bracelets and I think they all came out pretty good! :)
Goodnight!
