Wow.  This is my new favorite Psalm  :)  Those last two lines are sooo significant right now, while us East Coast Americans are sitting in the middle of a hurricane.  I don't think I've ever been in a natural disaster, so I was kind of excited (Yes, I am weird like that.  I get excited when I might die ;P).  Unfortunately (I meeaan, thankfully), it's not that bad.  It's just very windy and rainy out.  But reading those verses this morning, I just thought about how powerful our God is.  The chapter before was titled "Put Not Your Trust in Princes."  WOW.  See a link?  Princes (insert: Presidents, governors, politicians, kings, etc.) aren't half--scratch that, aren't a billionth as powerful as God.  Our God, MY God.  And how incredible does that feel to know that He's on our side?  "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)  I feel like the world is ending because of all these earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes.  But really, there's nothing to worry about because 1) God is on our side and He's taking care of us, and 2) If you're a Christian, you'll be taken before anything really awful happens.  All the other disasters have been happening in other parts of the world, like Japan and Haiti, and I felt really detached from the whole situation.  But now, with the earthquake in Virginia that reached Boston and Hurricane Irene cutting through MA and NY, it doesn't feel so far away.  Maybe now that people (insert: NorthEast Americans) are actually experiencing a little bit of the devastation that's overtaken less prosperous countries, we'll be more generous and open to giving/helping causes that support "the least of these" that have been attacked (see my last post).  Well, I gotta go, but that's my shpeel for the day :)

independence day and something else...

last night, a bunch of my friends and family went in to Boston to see the fireworks there. first we had dinner at my aunt's house in somerville, then some of us walked and some of us drove to cambridge to watch the fireworks over the charles. mr scott (my sunday school teacher ;P) used to work at the marriot, so he found "his favorite spot" on a welcome mat sewer cover (it's an inside joke...). seeing as we left somerville at 8.30, we stood in cambridge, on our welcome mat sewer cover, for 2 hours. lots of fun, let me tell ya. goodness, some people! they would like shove past you so they could stand on your feet, block your view, and blow smoke in your face! golly, obnoxious to the max... but eventually they would move on ;P mr scott and my cousin are sooo rambunctious, my goodness! haha right before the fireworks started, mr scott yelled (and those who know his yell, i was standing right in front of him... *ouch* lol ;D) "THE BRITISH ARE COMING!" we did a clapping game where you go around the circle and every person claps one more than the person before them. people around us kept looking at us weird ;D hehe i love confusing random people... we kept trying to make people think there was something to clap for by starting to applaud and yell. haha everyone started looking toward the barge to see if the fireworks had started or something ;P so we entertained ourselves for 2 hours by being obnoxious (lol some people enjoyed the show ;P). the fireworks themselves weren't that exciting... the finale was pretty good, but everything else was kind of same old, same old. but that's ok, because it was fun! ;D haha... _ now i need to stick the "something else" in to help explain this next part: last tuesday, my left knee was hurting, wednesday it started to swell up, and thursday morning it was a balloon. i went to the doctor, they did xrays, blood tests, etc. and it turns out i either have lyme disease or rheumatoid arthritis. we'll get the lyme test results tomorrow, so... i'm hoping it's lyme because then it can be treated and done away with... i think i'm going to have to make the type smaller for this post! lol ;P sorry... _ anywho, back to last night. most of our group (sleep-)walked back to somerville (by now it's like 11-something), but me (because my knees were killing me from standing and walking for 3 hours), my mom, my cousin's grandma, and my cousin's grandma's friend from canada (hehe i love the 's ;P) waited for my aunt to pick us up in her car that she parked in kendall square. we found the intersection down the street from the charles where we were supposed to meet her, and... sat there for 1 1/2 hours. there were plenty of things to entertain! the building across the street's alarm was going off and some fire trucks came, then left, then came again... i loooove people watching... and there were some short-of-patience police officers directing traffic... so the reason she was so late was because the police were directing traffic away from where we were. so finally, at about 1 o'clock (haha july 5th) my dad and uncle came and picked us up. we were even considering taking a cab away from where we were... and we didn't have a phone, so we borrowed some random guy's... fun time! _ i finally got in bed (and straight to sleep ;P) at 2.20am this morning and woke up at 11.13am :) _ now that i've wasted probably your whole day (bravo if you read the whole thing! i would feel loved...), how was your independence day? _ signing off [[zoomzoom]] flo on the go

oh, how 'bout that lame new offsides rule? where you have to have like 2 people over or something for it to be offsides... that's so silly to come up with a whole new rule just for the world cup! now they all have to learn it and adjust... silly silly...

Post #80, 21 Medals, and Team USA

Yay! This is my 80th post! :D

I've come to realize that the Olys only happen every 2 years, so every night I've been staying up until around 12am to watch 'em :) They are very interesting... well, I enjoy them ;P lol too bad it's winter, though, because then there's no soccer... haha. ;D

Anyways, I am soo proud to be an American! WOOPWOOP! We rock! Aaaaand every other country out there, too I guess ;P lollllll... Yeah, but the reason (2 ht dgs plz) we ROCK so much is because, um, well, we're awesome to start with, and also because we have, um, 21 medals total (1st in the medal count), and, um, we have amazing athletes-- take, for example, Vonn-ly, who is AH-MAZING, aaaand Apolo-s, wow buddy!, aaaand *lovelovelove* J'an'R, aaaand Lysacek-y, *gasp w/mouth WIDE OPEN*, aaaand last but certainly not least or last, Shaun-oWhite-o,o,o,o,o,o,ooooo!!! ....Just to mention a few.... ;P Yeah. I don't really have anything else to say besides that I am sooooo proud of Team USA and you all rock and I wish I could do what y'all do :) *lol like they're gonna read this ;P* Gosh, I wish I could be on Team USA...

SOOOOOOO that's what I have to say today... I know, not very interesting, but WhateveR!

OH yeah, and I got scores back from the SSAT test... i got, um, 91% in "Verbal", 88% in Math, and 82% in Reading... that's kinda odd b/c i hate math, and i LOVE reading! lolllll i guess that's pretty good, eh? idk i'm not educated in that stuffin'...

Muslims on Capitol Hill

Last Friday, at Washington D.C., Muslims in America declared an Islamic day of prayer. They went to the White House and prayed on the front lawn.

-Here is a Christian website article against the day. (I don't know anything about the writer)

The leader of "Islam on Capitol Hill" said, "The White House will become the Muslim House." If that doesn't scare you, I don't know what will. Mr. Obama said while he was in a Muslim nation (I'm not sure which one), that we [America] do not consider ourselves a Christian nation, a Jewish nation, or a Muslim nation. I, personally, think he should speak for himself (Mr. Barack *Hussein* Obama...).

So, we need to be praying for our country!!

Another thing we can pray for is that, since the Muslims in

their own countries cannot be reached, we can pray that

God speaks to them in visions and dreams--- and it is

happening! Muslims have claimed to be seeing visions of

God. This is virtually the only way they can be reached!

I just want to say (besides everything else I have already

said ;P) that Muslims won't accept any other religion in their

country, but then they expect to be accepted everywhere

they go! How does that work??

Well, tell me your views and opinions! I want to know!
