i don't like the fact that school is over. it makes me sad. um. very sad :(
because people are leaving.
and people are going to college.

lol so I had my last two finals today, math and Bible. we have 2 hours to take each test, and we can't leave if we finish early :P almost all of my other exams I finished in an hour, but Bible only took me 32 minutes :P uuuugh! But math was torture, it was so hard... I'm in algebra 2-honors, and the exams are supposed to be the easiest, but that was one of the hardest tests I've taken D:

anywho, I'M DONE! and it feels great! but it's really sad, too... :( because next year is going to be deaaath with all honor classes, activities leader for my grade, and 3 sports, every season... well, I need to go, but I hope y'all have an awesome year!

and about mon iPod! i turned it on the other day and tried to "slide to unlock" it, but it WOULDN'T MOVE!! then through further investigation, i verified that it is the screen itself that doesn't work :( so i have to bring it to the Apple store to see if they can do anything about it... i doubt it because the screen is basically the iPod, and it would probably cost a bajillion and 10 dollars to replace it, so i'll probably just end up buying a new one... sad day... i've had this one (1st generation bay-be!) for... three years? maybe? and recently it's been having annoying little quirks... that are annoying... haha yeeeah... so! the newest iPod touches are cool... they have facetime and a video camera! and plenty of cool editing apps :} yeah, so, we'll see. i'll probably just get a new one...
anywho, happy snow day- OH! i totally forgot! we've had midterms this past week! and i completely forgot to mention them... k, now i will! ;P lol...
so monday we had off because it was mlk jr day, then on tuesday we had our first exam- Bible! it was kinda easy, but my uber fab teacher put everything we had ever learned on it... but it was basically what i believe... so! then wednesday was English and Math. YUCKEE!!! i reaaaally can't stand mathematics. really. the night before, when i was doing the review pages for math, i got suuuper duper frustrated with oh, say, ALL of the problems so i told my mom "hey mom, i'm just gonna wing the math exam." and she said "ok!" lol ;P it was really funny... so i wunged the math exam and it was UBER easy (praise the LORD!!) and English wasn't that hard either... actually, i can't even remember what was on the English exam... lol that just shows how much i care ;P i have an A+ in English, so i kinda just wrote fluff in the essay... haha ;D THEN thursday (yesterday WOAH! it does NOT feel like friday...) was history. ah boy that was fun... there was a semi-big essay on that exam, so i outlined the entire thing the night before. and there was a big matching section with a bunch of people, and i started memorizing those at the beginning of the week. History is my lowest grade, so i had to do well on that... but when i got it, there was a whole section on the governments of Athens and Sparta, and my teach had told us we didn't have to know that!! argh! i checked my answers when i got home, and i got like all of them wrong D: ick... we'll see! today was supposed to be Physics and French (which are my two easiest subjects), but because it snowed this morning, we'll have to take the exams on Monday, which was supposed to be a day off :P oh well!
i feel like i always say bravo if you read all of that. and the reason i say it is because i don't have patience to read anyone else's long posts, (i just skim) so i don't think anyone else does either ;P lol but if the post has pictures, i like it ;D haha ANYwho, i'm hungry, so i'm going to go eat something yummy. maybe pretzels and Nutella...

watching A Knight's Tale on tv xD i heeeeaaaarrrrrtttt heath ledger!!!! *OUCH* rufus is beating up heath!! noooooo!!! i love rufus in Amazing Grace... not so much in this movie *grimace*
holy cow, there's so many people i know in this movie!! james purefoy (the philanthropist), paul bettany (dustfinger), rufus sewell (amazing grace), alan tudyk (firefly/serenity)... woooow!

anywho! school started last tuesday (WOW it feels like i've been going to school for a couple years already...), so i've had 4 days of school. i'm taking French 1, Foundations of Christianity, Foundations of Language & Literature, Algebra 2 Honors, Foundations of the Modern World, Physics, Intro to Theatre, and Art 1 Basic Design. i've had atleast one of all of my classes. and i am LOVING it! it's been soo awesome! people always ask if you have any friends when you start school... no, i don't have any friends. i haven't even talked to anyone in my grade. JK!! i've talked to almost everyone and (it's so weird saying it) but i think of most of them as my friends! what classifies them as friends? if you've talked to them more than twice, or have hung out with them more than twice... lol then, yeah, they're my friends ;D
so it's been great! and i love it! :}
i'm playing soccer, and guess what?! i made varsity!!!! normally i play keeper, but they already have one. yesterday we went to a jamboree in maine (it's like a tournament, but there's only one round). there are four schools. i played forward (sooooo much fun!!) in the first game against the pretty tough home team and we tied 0-0. the second game i played midfield against a team that i seriously thought was jv and we beat them somewhere around 7-0. the third game i didn't get to play at all (it was tough), but we won 2-1. so that was a good start to our season! it doesn't actually count for anything, but it's encouraging!! :D

oh my goodness, i'm so sorry i haven't updated in forever!
updates:

• one of the reasons i haven't been posting is because SCHOOL STARTS SEPTEMBER 7th and i am freaking out! my first year of "real school"... D:
• we got a macbook pro :} mmm yeay
• i damaged the soft tissue in my left wrist last week playing soccer, but thankfully it's healing super duper fast (i'm a fast healer ;P haha it's very helpful), and hopefully i'll be fine by soccer preseason so i can play goalie again!
• i was looking through my pictures from vacation, and (if i do say so myself) there are some good ones! i am utterly satisfied... maybe i can make a slideshow (haha somehow...) with our new mac :}
• is the annoying malware thing gone?

soo i received a letter the other day... from lca... and i didn't get the scholarship :( i got a "Future Leader" scholarship, though, for $5000, and if you add that to financial aid (because we're eligible :P), then we (haha i mean my parent) only have to pay $3200 :) yaaay... all three of us (moi and moi's two sisses) cost $6500 to go to school! that's good, considering the alternative of none of us getting a scholarship being... oh, i don't know, $66600... i'll take that deal! ;P lol yeah, Tori says we're not supposed to tell people how amazingly God is blessing us... well, not in those words ;P haha... lol

sooo anywho, that's my story. and this is the 90th post! :D yay! and my brother's undefeated team had their last b-ball game today and they won 31-30 ;P go Reuben!

So I said before how I took the entrance exam for a school I want to go to, and my scores (that I said previously, but will repeat:) were 91% in Verbal, 88% in Math, and 82% in Reading. Because those were in the higher end of the spectrum, I've been invited back to take the test for the all 4-year scholarship, called the Headmasters' Scholarship. My oldest sister got it, my second oldest sister got runner-up, soo ya know, NO PRESSURE! lol... yeah, but my Math and Reading scores were higher than the sister who got it, sooo... ;P Yeah. :D I'm taking it this Saturday, so if y'all could pray for me, that would be splendid! I'm not really nervous, amazingly I'm kind of excited!!

And here's the last subject (why do I always have 3?!)-- Every week at Photography class we're supposed to bring in our favorite picture from someone online, in a magazine, etc. So this is mine for this week:

I'm going to ask that we don't have critique on our favorites, just say what we like about them... because (most of them) are professionals, so they know what they're doing, and most of the time if there's something there that you spot that's "wrong", then it's either supposed to be there, or they couldn't possibly get rid of it. (Beka, I liked alot of Sara Rhoads pictures, but there was no way I could get them to bring them in to class/email them, etc. I know you're all crushed up inside ;P lol you probably won't even see this... yeah. well I'm saying thank you for the suggestion and she's a fantastic photographer!! :D)

Post #80, 21 Medals, and Team USA

Yay! This is my 80th post! :D

I've come to realize that the Olys only happen every 2 years, so every night I've been staying up until around 12am to watch 'em :) They are very interesting... well, I enjoy them ;P lol too bad it's winter, though, because then there's no soccer... haha. ;D

Anyways, I am soo proud to be an American! WOOPWOOP! We rock! Aaaaand every other country out there, too I guess ;P lollllll... Yeah, but the reason (2 ht dgs plz) we ROCK so much is because, um, well, we're awesome to start with, and also because we have, um, 21 medals total (1st in the medal count), and, um, we have amazing athletes-- take, for example, Vonn-ly, who is AH-MAZING, aaaand Apolo-s, wow buddy!, aaaand *lovelovelove* J'an'R, aaaand Lysacek-y, *gasp w/mouth WIDE OPEN*, aaaand last but certainly not least or last, Shaun-oWhite-o,o,o,o,o,o,ooooo!!! ....Just to mention a few.... ;P Yeah. I don't really have anything else to say besides that I am sooooo proud of Team USA and you all rock and I wish I could do what y'all do :) *lol like they're gonna read this ;P* Gosh, I wish I could be on Team USA...

SOOOOOOO that's what I have to say today... I know, not very interesting, but WhateveR!

aaah... so many long posts recently...

INTERVIEW/SHADOW, PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS, and i feel like there was more that i was going to talk about....

SO! interview and shadowing, i think, went really well. much better then the actual test ;P lol, that's not exactly very good... haha. yeah, but shadowing was really fun. i shadowed someone who i already semi-knew and she's really nice, besides. i went to 3 classes: ART (lovelovelove), Bible (which was EXCELLENT!), and math. Art was a good way to start b/c um i like art! they were making stamps out of linoleum. i was just kinda sitting there, and then the teacher was like oh! do you want to do it? so he gave me a little piece and i made a really ugly border thing and a soccer ball ;P lol they were horrible but i couldn't think of anything else... but it was fun :)

Bible was really good... we read Genesis 5 and then discussed the different theories about their "ages"-- Methusaleh (sp?) lived to be 969 or whatever and how some people think that's actually the length of the family line, etc. the teacher asked me to pick a color, and she was holding up the expo markers, but i couldn't tell and the only color i could see was yellow... soo as you probably know, yellow is kinda hard to read on a blackboard! lol, wrong choice... whatever... it was ok though b/c she didn't use yellow the whole time ;P

math is disgusting. they were in Algebra 2 (which is what i happen to be in...) but i had NO idea what they were talking about the whole time... it was wicked boring ;/ lol haha...

there were SO many people who were like "are you a *lastname*?" apparently we're really popular even though there's only 2 of us there... *so far*... lol haha :L i'm just kinda making up smileys lol...

AAAAAAAANDD... photography class today...

so we were supposed to bring in or email a photo that someone else had taken that we liked, so i brought this in: ok, it's up there /\ b/c for some reason, it won't let me drag it... ((photo credit: Jasmine Star, jasminestarblog.com))

she is an absolutely AMAZING photographer. yeah, so i brought that one in, and only like 1 person in the class other than me had anything good to say about it! it was ridiculous! there's this one guy who just loves to critique everybody's and he just was railing off all this stuff that was SUPPOSED to be there... and the teacher was like "what do you think they're relationship is like?" "oh they're probably really mean to each other..." etc... i was like gonna cry cuz they were dissing it left and right... ugh. i mean, it's a great class, but i don't know why they were being so negative about it!

*sigh* anywho, that's all i have to say today, i suppose...

3 Things

I Would Die For You, Entrance Exams, and... shoot i forgot the other thing... oh right the SUPER BOWL!

I finished I Would Die For You, and as I have said many times before, it was FABULOUS! it seriously helped me with "dying for your friends", like what that meant etc... yeah, it was a really good book... :

what I wrote- "laying down/sacrificing your life doesn't necessarily mean taking a bullet or anything, it could mean getting bullied, standing up for them and being thought 'weird'." And it's basically the same thing for Jesus, being willing to look "weird" and standing up for Him.

what BJ wrote- " 'Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.' This passage has a double meaning. One, that Christ is the ultimate example of love (being that He is God and God is love), and two, that the GREATEST love is to sacrifice yourself for your friends. [When I say love is a verb], this is the action I'm talking about. Not necessarily to literally get killed to save someone, but to lay your life down: to become selfless and act for others instead of yourself, or to devote your life."

So I would DEFINITELY recommend this book.

Entrance Exams... :

They were pretty good... i suppose i would say i'm semi-confident. I knew basically all of the stuff on the test (it's more of an evaluation of your knowledge ;P). The first thing we had to do was write an essay in 25 minutes on whether you agree or disagree with the topic. and the topic sentence was... ready? drum roll please,... "The greatest benefit of education is tolerance." WHAT?!?! how on earth did they expect me to write an essay, in 25 minutes, on THAT?! i literally just sat there for 10 minutes dumbfounded having absolutely NO idea what to write! i finally decided i disagreed with that absurd sentence and wrote about something along the lines of that education doesn't produce a sense of tolerance, but rather an opposition and they (educatees) develop instead a something (haha i can't think of the word...) that they can decide for themselves and make their own decisions. independence, perhaps? ;P it was ridiculous... i ended up scribbling the last 2 paragraphs because i ran out of time. i don't think anyone else had the same sentence as me, because nobody else was making desperate glances or just sitting there with their mouth hanging open...

the section after that was math... ugh i hate math... i just barely marked the last circle when the proctor called time. but all the sections after math i finished with atleast 10 minutes to spare. i practically memorized all the names of the Nazi and WWII books next to me. i think the other guy who finished early probably memorized the ones next to him, too ;P lol...

interaction was... 0. and super awkward. but the rest of the test was semi-easy and dragged on for-eva! but that's my story for part 2 of this post...

i'm actually going to have 2 more short parts (don't worry, this post is almost over ;P).

1st: that night i saw the play The Fantasticks with a bunch of my frien's (at LCA. they have AMAZING plays :] ). it was FANTASTIC!!! sooooo good! and y'all should see it :D

last but NOT least.... the SUPER BOWL!!!!!! WOOHOO! go SAINTS! they won and i was so proud of Drews :D great job guys and now i've gotta go!

Tomorrow is the entrance exam for LCA! I stayed up until 11.45 last night revising my essay that's part of the exam... I have to answer the questions "Imagine you could take a trip to any place of your choosing. (a) Where would you go?, (b) Who would you take with you?, (c) What would you do?, and (d) Why?" Maybe I'll post the actual essay once it's polished... (it still needs some more polishing ;P) So if I want to get into LCA (which I really REALLY do!), then I NEED to get the Headmasters' Scholarship which is a full-ride all 4 years. Since I'm not applying for any other scholarships... haha... oops!... Yeah, so that's my story and I wanted to ask y'all to pray for moi cuz I'm WICKED nervous! So I'll prob update again... sometime later ;P

Water balloons!!

The past three days here have been the hottest of the summer- yesterday was in the hundreds, I think! So today we decided to play with some water balloons! I didn't get very many pictures (cuz I was playing with the water balloons, and what is the first word?? Water, right. Water + camera = not good.) But here is one of, rather the only pic of the balloons:

For this school year i'm taking a Photography class and I need a camera! So I'm working on getting a DSLR, specifically this one. I'm buying it from one of Tori's teachers for $400!! And he's giving it to me with a battery, battery charger, a lens, and a 2gb memory card!! Compared to a new one on Amazon: I save $1,598.93! Woopee considering that i really don't want to spend more than $400 on a camera right now... ;P

(here comes summer!) lol but my sizzes had class day today, prom's tonight (now), graduation iiiiiiiisss... saturday i think... and... yup! no more school!! next year i'll start taking tests... yeah. now i need to go watch Pride & Prejudice ... good movie... :)
